Tuition fees are 13,400 EUR per year.

Programme Profile

The Master of Engineering with Management combines theory and practice in the fields of design, construction and management. Studio-based practical design projects are subject to peer review and a critique jury, ensuring consistent feedback on developing work. Students act as engineers in training, collating data, interpreting findings and engaging with clients on a professional basis.

The programme is the second-tier qualification preparing graduates for an EU-accredited warrant to pursue a career as a Civil/Structural Engineer, conforming to the Bologna Process and the requirements of Europe-wide engineering associations (e.g. for the title European Engineer, Eur.Ing). At least 50% of content covers engineering subjects, at least 20% covers basic sciences, and at least 10% covers non-technical subjects including management and the environment.

Career Prospects

Graduates satisfy the academic requirement for professional status in Malta as a perit, and as a professional engineer at European level. Many go on to enrol in doctorate programmes.

About University of Malta

The University of Malta is a public university in Msida, Malta. It was founded in 1592 and is the oldest university in Malta. The university has over 13,000 students and 1,500 staff members. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, medicine, and engineering. The University of Malta is ranked #601-800 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. It is also a member of the European University Association.

The University of Malta traces its origins to the Collegium Melitense, founded by papal charter in 1592, making it one of the oldest universities in the Mediterranean. It has around 12,000 students, including about 2,800 from more than 144 countries, spread across fourteen faculties. Its main campus is at Msida, with further campuses at Valletta, Marsaxlokk and Gozo.

How tuition works

This catalogue lists 20 of its master's and doctoral programmes, almost all taught in English. Full-time postgraduate fees follow published bands: €10,800 a year for arts and business-related programmes, €13,400 for science-based ones, €14,400 for the Executive MBA, and €11,000 for doctorates. Part-time and extended versions of the same degrees spread the same total cost over more years, which is why their published annual figure is lower.

Malta

You will study on an island in the Mediterranean, with English as the university's language of instruction throughout. The University of Malta ranks in the world's top 700 by QS and the top 300 in Europe, and around 3,600 students graduate across its faculties each year.
