Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Tuition fees for Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are 174,509 AED per year.

This master's program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham Dubai covers the branch of computer science concerned with building systems that can perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as recognising patterns, making predictions and adapting behaviour based on data. Artificial intelligence is the broader field encompassing reasoning, planning and perception in computational systems, while machine learning is the subset of techniques that allow such systems to improve their performance by learning from data rather than following explicitly programmed rules. Coursework in programs of this kind typically includes mathematical foundations such as linear algebra, probability and optimisation, alongside core topics like supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision and the ethical implications of deploying intelligent systems. Students generally gain hands-on experience through programming projects that involve building, training and evaluating machine learning models, often working with real datasets to practice the full pipeline from data preparation to model deployment. As artificial intelligence techniques are adopted across industries, coursework often extends into applied areas such as robotics, recommendation systems, automated decision-making and data-driven business applications. Graduates pursue careers as machine learning engineers, artificial intelligence researchers, data scientists, software engineers specialising in AI systems, and technical consultants, working across technology companies, finance, healthcare and other data-intensive industries. Some continue into doctoral research to pursue more theoretical or specialised work within the field. The program is delivered in English at the Dubai campus of the University of Birmingham, in the emirate of Dubai, within the United Arab Emirates, a country actively promoting artificial intelligence adoption across its public and private sectors. The program is accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation.
