About Master of Science in Computer Science

The Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Passau is a four-semester programme designed to produce specialists in at least one area of computer science with broad expertise in scientific methods. Graduates are able to define and structure computer science problems, build abstract models, and implement current solutions. Students choose modules from five subject areas: Algorithms and Mathematical Modelling, which covers deterministic and stochastic algorithms and advanced mathematical methods; Programming and Software Systems, addressing large-scale software construction and various programming paradigms; Information and Communication Systems, examining the intersection of information systems and computer networks; Intelligent Technical Systems, covering machine learning, signal and image processing, and self-learning systems; and IT Security and Reliability, focused on securing hardware, communication protocols, and networked application systems. The programme can be studied entirely in English, in German, or in a combination of both. Entry is possible in both the winter and summer semester. Double-degree arrangements are available with INSA Lyon, ENSIIE Evry-Paris, SUP'COM Tunis, and ENSI Tunis. The programme is offered at the University of Passau in Passau, Germany.
