Master of Space Engineering (MSE)

The Master of Space Engineering at Technische Universität Berlin is a project-oriented programme focused on space system design, space technology, space management and operation, and intercultural communication. Students gain hands-on experience by working within intercultural teams on space projects, drawing on the university's network in the field of space technology. The programme is structured into four module groups. Module group A covers space technology subjects including satellite technology, space electronics, spacecraft dynamics and control, space propulsion systems, and space sensors and instruments. Module group B addresses space system design, including a space system design project, a space technology project, and planetary exploration and space robotics. Module group C deals with space management and operations, covering space mission planning, human space flight, space psychology, space flight mechanics, satellite geodesy, and satellite communication. Module group D is interdisciplinary and includes project management, innovation management and entrepreneurship, soft skills, and German for engineers. The programme spans 4 semesters starting in the summer semester, with tuition of 12,450 EUR per year. The programme concludes with a Master's thesis, which may be carried out with a university research project or an industry partner.
