Master Philosophie — Philosophie

For Master Philosophie — Philosophie, tuition costs 250 EUR per year.

The Master Philosophie, spécialité Philosophie, is a graduate program in the study of philosophical thought, covering major traditions, thinkers and problems in the history of philosophy alongside contemporary debates. This discipline generally addresses areas such as metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind and epistemology, along with close study of canonical texts from ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary philosophers. Students typically develop skills in textual analysis, logical argumentation, critical reasoning and philosophical writing, learning to construct and evaluate arguments on abstract and often contested questions. Seminars in a program of this kind commonly involve close reading of primary philosophical texts alongside secondary scholarship, as well as discussion-based exploration of how philosophical questions connect to ethics, politics, science and culture. This kind of training builds transferable skills in structured reasoning, written argumentation and conceptual clarity. Graduates from this field commonly pursue careers in teaching, publishing, journalism, public policy, law, or continue toward doctoral research in philosophy. The rigorous analytical and writing skills developed through philosophical study also support work in fields that value structured thinking and clear communication, such as consulting or communications. This program is delivered by Institut catholique de Paris in Paris, France, as a two-year master's degree taught in French. It typically begins in September, and yearly tuition is 250 EUR. Applicants generally hold prior coursework in philosophy or a closely related humanities discipline.
