Master Sciences Du Langage — Discours : pratiques et médiations

At Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, tuition fees are 250 EUR per year.

Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, in Besancon, France, offers this master's program in Sciences Du Langage (Language Sciences), with a specialization in Discours : pratiques et médiations, focused on discourse, its practices, and its role in mediation. Language sciences examine how language is structured and used, and this specialization concentrates on discourse analysis, the study of how language functions in real communicative situations, including professional, institutional, and mediated contexts. Typical subjects include discourse analysis methods, pragmatics, communication theory, and the study of language in settings such as media, institutions, and conflict mediation. Students often analyze real examples of spoken or written discourse and may study how language shapes negotiation, mediation, and public communication. Coursework can involve practical exercises in analyzing texts and interactions, alongside more theoretical study of linguistic and communication theory. Graduates from this kind of specialization commonly move into roles in communication, media analysis, corporate or institutional communication, mediation services, or further research in linguistics and discourse studies. Some apply the analytical skills developed in the program to roles in publishing, journalism, or public relations. The program runs over two years, is taught in French, and begins in September, with a yearly tuition of 250 EUR. Besancon, home to Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, offers a university environment for the study of language and discourse in professional and social contexts.
