St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers a graduate program leading to a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant (MSPA). This program is a rigorous course of study, combining didactic and laboratory-based academic instruction with clinical training. The first two didactic years integrate medical, behavioral, and social sciences to develop a comprehensive approach to patient care. The third year of the program is dedicated to clinical training, providing supervised, hands-on training by physicians and physician assistants at leading New York-area hospitals, medical centers, and private medical practices. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)-administered Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) exam.
