The Master's Programme in Materials Science and Technology provides solid grounding in materials from the perspective of current research and engineering practice. The curriculum covers materials science and its sub-areas — including advanced metallic materials, ceramics, carbon-based materials, polymers and biopolymers, and minerals — and takes into account the size effects of materials at macro, micro, and nano scales. The programme integrates materials science with production engineering, applying knowledge through project courses carried out in close cooperation with Finnish and international industries.
