PhD in Mathematical Sciences, Doctor (4 years)

The Doctoral Degree Program in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Oulu develops the research skills needed to carry out scientific work in exact sciences and their applications. Students prepare a dissertation in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics, with the option to specialise in areas such as mathematical analysis, inverse problems, or computational mathematics and statistics. Doctoral candidates work as part of an active research group and within an international research community. The program runs for four years and starts in January 2026.
