The Mathematics Major at Hollins is offered as a B.A. or B.S. and is delivered on-campus in a full-time format. Students study calculus, linear algebra, statistics, algebra, and analysis while developing problem-solving and communication skills in both theoretical and applied mathematics. The programme includes a two-semester Senior Seminar where students conduct independent research under faculty mentorship.

About Hollins University

Hollins University traces its campus history to 1842, with architecture that dates to its founding. Martha Louisa “Matty” Cocke, the founder’s daughter, later became the first woman to head a college in Virginia and served as Hollins’ president from 1901 to 1933.
