Medical University of Warsaw offers a six-year Medical Doctor program conducted entirely in English, with yearly tuition of 13700 EUR. The program is open to high school graduates as well as existing degree holders, and graduates are awarded the MD degree along with a medical diploma (dyplom lekarski) that the university states is recognized in Poland, the EU, the UK, the USA, Canada and most other countries. The program consists of three pre-clinical years built around lectures and seminars, followed by three years of clinical training. Clinical training takes place across six of the university's teaching hospitals and affiliated hospitals in Warsaw, along with its Medical Simulation Centre, and students complete a Register of Student Skills covering competencies essential for medical practice. The university states that teaching goes beyond standard requirements, totaling more than 5700 hours of teaching and training and over 360 ECTS credits. Its diploma is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, the Medical Board of California, the Malaysian Medical Council, and the Medical Council of Thailand. Since 1993, the university reports that more than 1300 international students from over 60 different countries have graduated from the program. A six-year MD program of this structure combines foundational biomedical science with extensive hospital-based clinical rotations, preparing graduates to sit licensing examinations and pursue residency training in their home countries or internationally, in fields spanning general practice, surgery, internal medicine and other medical specialties.
