Bachelor in Medical Engineering (BEng), full-time

The Bachelor of Engineering in Medical Engineering at OTH Amberg-Weiden is an English-language programme designed for students interested in the intersection of technology, medicine, and engineering. It covers both technical modules and interdisciplinary components, giving graduates a foundation to work in companies, medical institutions, or public authorities within the life sciences industry. The programme runs for 7 semesters and is available for entry in both winter and summer semesters. The first four semesters include subjects in mathematics, technical mechanics, electrical engineering, anatomy, physiology, medical device technology, informatics, and project management, as well as interdisciplinary modules covering intercultural communication and statistics. A compulsory practical semester is incorporated, during which students enter the labour market and may work in environments that may require German language skills. The final semesters include elective modules in science, technology, medicine, and interdisciplinary fields, concluding with a Bachelor's thesis. Students have access to a teaching and research operating theatre, an x-ray and molecular imaging laboratory, a medical training centre with ultrasound equipment, and facilities for robotics and 3D printing.
