If you have a strong background in mathematics and science, enjoy precise analytical work and are comfortable with detailed laboratory procedures, this advanced diploma suits you. The entry criteria require Grade 12 English (70 %), Foundations of Math 30 or Pre-Calculus 30/Math B30 or C30 (70 %), Chemistry 30 and Biology 30, plus proof of English language proficiency for non-native speakers. Graduates become certified medical laboratory technologists, sit the national CSMLS exam and can work in hospitals, regional health districts, private labs and research facilities across Canada. Membership in the Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists is required for practice in the province, and many graduates continue to a Bachelor of Applied Management to move into management or teaching roles. The program is nationally accredited and includes a 31-week clinical practicum across multiple Saskatchewan sites, providing hands-on experience in real diagnostic settings.
