About the Program

Students in the Medieninformatik und Interaktives Entertainment programme learn to automate, evaluate, and create interactive experiences in games with methods such as prozeduralisation and machine learning.

Forming part of the Angewandte Computer- und Biowissenschaften faculty, this Masters at Hochschule Mittweida integrates technical and creative aspects. Students enhance skills in Competitive Game Design and Balancing, and use modern web principles and software-engineering for complex systems and databases in digital media, with a focus on practical application in various student projects.

In the second and third year, students choose from five qualifying lines: Game Production, VFX-Production, Webentwicklung, Mixed Reality and Deep Learning, and IT-Governance. The programme is accredited and lasts four semesters, with students completing a research project and master thesis in the final terms.

The curriculum is designed to equip students with the ability to create both analytical and creative solutions in media informatics and interactive entertainment, with a strong focus on practical skills and interdisciplinary work.
