Mind, Brain and Behaviour is a research-oriented, English-language Master's programme examining human perception, neural processes, and behaviour. The four-semester curriculum combines theoretical courses with hands-on methods training. Theoretical modules address multi-sensory perception, action and cognition, the development of these capacities in infancy and childhood, and the perception of objects, colour, and materials. Applied modules cover functional magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography (EEG), eye and body movement measurement, computer graphics, virtual reality, computational modelling, and machine learning. In the first two semesters, students complete four theoretical modules and three of five application modules alongside two elective modules. The third semester covers the remaining application module and nine weeks of practical training in a research or industry setting. The fourth semester is given over to the Master's thesis, typically an experimental research project in one of the associated research departments. Elective modules can be drawn from Economics, Data Science, Psychology, and Human Movement Analytics at Justus Liebig University Giessen. The programme prepares graduates for careers in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and the behavioural sciences in both academic and industry settings, including human-machine interface design, VR, autonomous driving, cognitive robotics, and AI and machine learning contexts.
