Students study the methods used to locate, extract, and process ore deposits, working through coursework in geology, surveying, and equipment design alongside practical exercises in mine design and safety planning. The program builds technical knowledge relevant to both underground and surface mining operations. Graduates pursue careers in mining companies, mineral processing plants, resource consulting, and government regulatory agencies, as well as further graduate study in mining or geological engineering.
