Bachelor in Mining Engineering

Mining Engineering covers the extraction of mineral resources from the earth, spanning mine planning, rock mechanics, mineral processing, and mine safety. Students study the methods used to locate, extract, and process ore deposits, working through coursework in geology, surveying, and equipment design alongside practical exercises in mine design and safety planning. The program builds technical knowledge relevant to both underground and surface mining operations. Graduates pursue careers in mining companies, mineral processing plants, resource consulting, and government regulatory agencies, as well as further graduate study in mining or geological engineering. The program is offered in English at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, over a duration of 4 years.
