Molecular Biology and Genetics examines life at the cellular and molecular level, covering topics such as gene structure and expression, protein synthesis, cell signaling, genetic inheritance, and biotechnology techniques. Students work through coursework in biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, and laboratory methods including DNA sequencing, cloning, and cell culture, building the practical skills needed to conduct experimental research. The program blends theoretical instruction with hands-on laboratory training, preparing graduates to work in research laboratories, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic centers, and academic institutions, or to continue into graduate study in the life sciences. The program is offered in English at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, over a duration of 4 years.
