Students on the MSc Building Services Engineering focus on a core course, Design of Low Carbon Buildings, and proceed to develop advanced skills in designing, managing, and optimising energy-efficient buildings. The programme is delivered through Heriot-Watt University’s Royal Academy of Engineering Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design, part of a network promoting innovation in the built environment. Academic staff lead multi-million-pound research programmes, including the EPSRC Energy Systems Integration project and Adaptation and Resilience in a Changing Climate (ARCC) initiative. The faculty also has an Industry Advisory Panel including senior CIBSE members and consultants.
