Master in MSc Materials Science and Engineering

The MSc Materials Science and Engineering at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg provides in-depth training across a broad range of materials science areas. Students choose three core subjects from a list that includes General Materials Properties, Materials Science and Engineering for Metals, Glass and Ceramics, Surface Science and Corrosion, Polymer Materials, Materials for Electronics and Energy Technology, Biomaterials, Materials Simulation, and Micro- and Nanostructure Research. The selection of core subjects shapes the subject-specific profile of each student's studies while ensuring appropriate breadth in the discipline. An extensive range of supplementary elective subjects allows further specialisation based on individual interests and career plans. The programme also places emphasis on soft skills and scientific project work. The four-semester programme is available to students entering in either the winter or summer semester.
