Bachelor in Musical instruments

Musical Instruments, within the Instrumental Faculty at The Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, is a first-cycle, full-time bachelor's program taught in English over three years. Majors include violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, horn, tuba, trombone, trumpet, percussion, harp, guitar, and accordion. The program is addressed to musically talented candidates who hold a certificate of secondary education and wish to continue their music education and improve their skills on a chosen instrument; candidates must demonstrate both instrumental ability and general music knowledge at the level of a secondary music school. Graduates receive a diploma of completion of first-cycle studies in their chosen instrument and are entitled to apply for second-cycle studies. Graduates hold qualifications to work as instrumentalist musicians, including as soloists and chamber musicians, and to lead didactic classes in primary music schools; pedagogical qualifications are acquired through parallel study in the Pedagogical Study track. Graduates of the first-cycle program possess knowledge of the basic repertoire related to their major, along with performance and artistic abilities that let them communicate information and artistic ideas to specialists and non-specialists alike, and can use the means of artistic expression creatively. The three-year, English-medium orchestral and instrumental program at the Bacewicz Academy of Music gives international students a route into standard orchestral instrument training within Poland's conservatory system, based in Łódź, alongside pedagogical preparation for teaching in primary music schools.
