Master in Neuroscience

Tuition fees are 38,000 AUD per year.

Neuroscience at La Trobe is designed for inquisitive minds eager to map the intricate biological and neural pathways governing human behavior. Students engage in a rigorous exploration of the complex interplay between the immune system and behavioral outcomes, the molecular underpinnings of vision and perception, and the biological foundations of psychiatric illnesses. The curriculum is deeply rooted in research rated 'well above world standard' by the Australian Research Council, ensuring that learning is informed by the latest discoveries in cognitive science and neuropsychology.

Research-Led Expertise

You will learn directly from world-class researchers whose work spans diverse and fascinating domains, including:

• Neurobiology of Vision: Investigating the biological origins of refractive errors and the impact of environmental stressors on neural tissue.
• Laterality and Cognition: Exploring how brain asymmetries influence perception, performance, and susceptibility to psychological conditions like schizophrenia.
• Vision Neuroscience: Integrating psychophysics, eye-tracking, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to understand how the brain processes size, weight, and orientation.

By blending theoretical mastery with practical work-integrated learning, the programme prepares graduates for high-impact careers in neurotechnology, clinical research, drug development, and specialized mental health advocacy.
