About the Program

The MSc in Neurosciences at the University of Bremen is focused primarily on cognitive neurosciences. The first semester introduces foundational theoretical knowledge across cellular, molecular, systemic, theoretical, and clinical neurosciences, alongside practical courses in programming and laboratory animal science. The second semester allows students to focus on individual interests by choosing three advanced practical modules from a selection of seven. The third semester consists of two lab rotations of six weeks each, which can be carried out at another institute or clinic in Germany or abroad. The final semester is devoted to the Master's thesis project. The programme runs over 4 semesters and begins in the winter semester. Each stage of the programme builds on the previous one, moving from broad theoretical grounding through individual specialisation to independent research work. Students develop skills in experimental design and scientific communication across the programme. The programme is taught at the University of Bremen in Bremen, Germany.
