About the Program

The PhD student Nicolo Dal Bello examines the translinguism in Hungarian migration literature at the University of Naples Federico II.

His research focuses on the translinguistic turn of Edith Bruck and Giorgio Pressburger, authors who, along with others such as Sándor Márai and Ágota Kristóf, were forced into exile and found Italy as both a refuge and a linguistic and cultural space to redefine their identities. This study explores how the adoption of Italian as a literary language allowed these authors to transcend the 'writing of limits' typical of exile, turning to the Italian language as a tool for reconnecting with their inner 'Pannonia'.
