Master in Nursing (MN)

The Master of Nursing is organised over a minimum of 20 months and can be taken full-time or part-time. Students choose one of three professional streams – Mental Health and Addictions, Nurse Practitioner, or Professional – each with its own delivery mix of in-person, online and blended teaching. The first stream includes 250 hours of clinical placements, the Nurse Practitioner stream requires 700 hours, while the Professional stream is entirely online with no practicum. Both full-time and part-time enrolment are available, and students may study in person, online or a blended format depending on the chosen stream.

Graduates move into roles such as clinical research nurse, nurse practitioner, public health nurse, nurse consultant or director of nursing in hospitals, long-term care, schools, community health centres and government agencies. The programme is aimed at registered nurses who hold a Canadian RN licence, have at least two years recent clinical experience for the clinical streams, and have completed undergraduate courses in research and statistics.
