This program awards both a Master of Science (MS) in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) upon completion. It prepares nurses to advance their practice, guide health care policy, and complete population-focused applied research. Students complete coursework and clinical hours for both degrees.

Focus areas include Family Nurse Practitioner Specialization, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialization, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Specialization, Advanced Leadership in Health Care, Advanced Practice Registered Nursing.

The program requires 74-79 credit hours, including master's and doctoral coursework and 1000 total clinical hours.

Graduates are eligible to sit for national certification examinations in their specialization, with some specializations also providing eligibility for advanced practice registries and prescriptive authority.

Applicants need a nursing bachelor's degree from an accredited program with a minimum 2.75 GPA and a 'C' or better in undergraduate nursing courses. Required documents include an online application via NursingCAS, transcripts, resume, personal statement, and three recommendations. Specific experience is recommended for general applicants and required for the NNP specialization; a statistics course is required before NR 602.

The program is delivered via on-campus, online, and synchronous web-based classes, with the DNP portion being online-only. It is a four- to five-year program, with the DNP component having a two- or three-year option. For international students, tuition is below the median for US programmes.
