Nursing is a health sciences program that prepares students to provide direct patient care across hospital, community, and specialized clinical settings. The curriculum typically covers anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, pediatric and maternal health, mental health nursing, and community health, combined with supervised clinical placements where students practice patient assessment and care delivery under the guidance of qualified nurses and instructors. Students learn to monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, communicate with patients and families, and work as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Graduates typically pursue licensure as registered nurses and find employment in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and public health organizations, with some continuing into specialized nursing fields or graduate study. At Istanbul Kent University in Istanbul, Turkey, the Nursing program is taught in English over four years at a private university, combining theoretical coursework with clinical training. The program structure moves from foundational biomedical and nursing science courses in the earlier years toward more specialized clinical rotations as students advance. Istanbul's extensive hospital network gives students access to a wide range of clinical training sites throughout the city. Over the four years, students build the medical knowledge, clinical judgment, and practical skills required for professional nursing practice, preparing graduates to enter the healthcare workforce or pursue further studies in nursing specializations.
