MS in Operations Management

Kettering University’s campus is located at 1700 University Ave. in Flint, southeast Michigan. Student life includes competition teams, clubs and organizations, fraternity and sorority life, community involvement, housing and dining. Students can work on hands-on projects such as building electric vehicles, developing coding languages and creating businesses. Robotics activities, Formula SAE and aerial drone competitions also form part of campus life. The Master of Science in Operations Management (MSOM) program focuses on developing the management skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to lead organizations that produce goods and services. Students gain expertise in general business management alongside modern operations management methods and practices. The program is designed for individuals currently in or aspiring to management roles within manufacturing or service companies and does not require a thesis.

Focus areas include Global Leadership Certificate, Operations Management Certificate, Supply Chain and ERP Certificate, Lean Principles for Healthcare Certificate, Data Analytics Certificate.

The program requires 10 courses totaling 40 credit hours, comprising seven core courses (28 credits) and three certificate courses (12 credits).

Students must demonstrate foundational knowledge in economics, managerial accounting, statistics, management, and marketing, either through undergraduate coursework, completing MGMT-510 Foundations of Business, or by testing out of prerequisite courses.

The programme totals about 40 credit hours. The program is available on-campus, with some certificate options also offered online. Students may start the program in any term. For international students, tuition is well below the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 79% of applicants.
