Master in PATHS Forced Migration: Europe in a Global Context

The Master of Arts (M.A.) PATHS Forced Migration: Europe in a Global Context is taught across three countries and offers three thematic paths including European Border Regimes – and is accredited as a Joint European Degree by six partner universities. Students in the European Border Regimes path at Viadrina study borders, mobility, and displacement from local, national, and global perspectives, as well as the legal, technological, and social dimensions of European border regimes and the impacts of forced migration.

The curriculum includes a professional internship, research opportunities, and hands-on fieldwork. As a student, you will study and live in Germany, Poland, and Greece, and have access to a network of 25+ partner organisations, including international organisations such as UNHCR and UNICEF. By the time you graduate, you will have built a strong international academic and professional network – a foundation for careers that operate at European and global levels.
