This programme is designed for recent graduates and healthcare professionals seeking to enter the field of cardiovascular perfusion. Students learn to operate heart-lung machines and manage extracorporeal circulation during open-heart surgery. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on training in simulation labs and clinical rotations. Graduates are prepared to work in high-pressure surgical environments across the United States.

The programme consists of 90 credits over five consecutive semesters, with the first two semesters focused on didactic coursework and the final three on clinical practice and a capstone research project.

Graduates work as certified perfusionists in hospitals and surgical centers, operating life-support equipment during cardiac procedures.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and either have critical care experience as a respiratory therapist or nurse, or complete specific prerequisite courses in anatomy, physiology, physics, and chemistry. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, and applicants must submit an essay, two letters of recommendation, and complete an interview with a practicing perfusionist.
