About the Program

Accredited by the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada, the Perioperative Nursing/LPN program gives students access to virtual-reality surgery videos and 360-degree images of surgical instruments, providing a realistic preview of the operating-room environment.

The programme is delivered through online theory modules over 22 weeks, followed by a compulsory one-week skills lab and a 10-week clinical placement. Learners may choose a full-time route that finishes in eight months, or a part-time route spread over three years.

Each week students study theory online, then apply techniques in the skills lab using simulations. During the clinical block they rotate through four weeks of instructor-led practicum and six weeks of preceptored practice in various surgical specialties, gaining hands-on experience in Regina, Saskatoon or other sites.
