Pharmacy Technician

Four mandatory pharmacy work placements, each worth ten credits, give students extensive hands-on experience in community and hospital settings. Alongside these placements, the curriculum covers fundamental science modules such as Chemistry, Biological Science and Pharmacology, and specialised pharmacy practice subjects including dispensary computer systems and drug formulation.

The programme prepares graduates for roles as registered pharmacy technicians, enabling employment in retail pharmacies, hospital dispensaries, and pharmaceutical companies, or progression to further study in related health professions. Successful completion also meets the statutory requirements for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.

• Four compulsory pharmacy work placements (40 credits total)
• Modules on chemistry, biology, pharmacology, pharmacy practice and business
