The curriculum includes independent research in theory-building, media practice, or policy implications. Students develop skills in critical thinking, research, and analysis. They also learn about communication politics in practice and theory, as well as contemporary media-immersed cultures.

Graduates can pursue careers as Media Researchers, Communication Consultants, Cultural Critics, or Policy Analysts. They can work in industries such as media, government, or non-profit organizations. Employers may include universities, research institutions, or private companies.
