    About John Brown University

John Brown University’s main campus is in Siloam Springs, Northwest Arkansas. Students can choose campus housing or commuter life, use dining services and the Walton Lifetime Health Complex, and join intramural or club sports, esports, student publications, music, theatre, and campus events. Chapel, ministry opportunities, and formation activities are part of student life.

Evangelist John Brown Sr. established the university in 1919. Its educational approach follows the historic mottos “Christ Over All” and “Head, Heart, and Hand,” linking intellectual learning with faith, community, practical career skills, and service. JBU is interdenominational, has no denominational affiliation, and admits students of any faith. Students do not sign a statement of faith, though undergraduates and graduate or online students commit to the relevant community expectations. A significant majority of students are Christians.

JBU offers 52 on-campus undergraduate majors, eight fully online undergraduate programs, and graduate degrees in business, education, cybersecurity, and counseling, with many graduate programs available online. Academic areas include STEM, business, nursing, teacher education, psychology, construction management, graphic design, family and human services, and the arts. Its international business major covers global strategies, logistics, supply chain management, and economics in the developing world, with diverse classrooms, international travel programs, and connections with business professionals. Students come from 37 states and 48 countries across in-person and online programs.
