Political Sciences at Università degli Studi di Milano is a bachelor's program conducted in English in Milano, Italy, with a duration of three years. The discipline studies how power is organized, contested, and exercised, covering the institutions, processes, and ideas that shape government and public life. Students typically encounter courses in political theory, comparative politics, public administration, and international relations, alongside supporting subjects such as law, sociology, history, and statistics. Coursework often examines how political systems differ across countries, how policies are formed and implemented, and how citizens, parties, and interest groups interact with formal institutions. Because political science draws on both qualitative and quantitative methods, students develop skills in analyzing texts, institutions, and data, as well as in constructing arguments about how political outcomes come about. Many programs also address contemporary issues such as governance challenges, democratic institutions, and the relationship between domestic politics and international affairs. Graduates in this field pursue careers in public administration, diplomacy, journalism, non-governmental organizations, political consulting, and research institutes, while others continue toward advanced degrees in law, public policy, or international relations. The training is well suited to students interested in understanding how societies govern themselves and how decisions affecting large populations are made and contested. Milano offers a setting with access to national and international institutions, business, and media, complementing classroom study of political processes. Delivery in English makes the program accessible to an international cohort, allowing students to study political systems, including the Italian and European context, from a comparative and globally oriented perspective.
