The Bachelor program in Protestant Religious Education at the University of Erfurt is designed for students interested in teaching and religious studies. This full-time or part-time program spans six semesters and leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. Ideal candidates are those who are passionate about education and wish to engage with religious topics in a societal context.

The curriculum includes an orientation phase in the first year, covering biblical science, religion in society, and religious education studies. In the subsequent years, students deepen their understanding of these subjects, preparing them for a teaching career. Internships are integrated into the program, providing practical experience in various educational settings.

Graduates can pursue careers as teachers of Protestant religion in primary, secondary, and vocational schools, provided they complete a relevant Master's program. Other career paths include roles in publishing, journalism, media, and cultural organizations. The skills acquired are transferable, allowing graduates to explore diverse opportunities in education and beyond.
