University of Economics in Katowice offers a master's program in Quantitative asset and risk management, taught in English over 4 semesters. Known as ARIMA, the program is fully conducted in English and teaches practical ways of applying quantitative methods in finance and insurance. The curriculum concentrates on practical aspects of measurement and risk valuation in asset management, covering both financial and insurance markets. Students in this specialization have the opportunity to gain an additional Double Degree diploma from partner universities, including the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna in Austria, the University of Bologna in Italy, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi in Romania, and the University of Economics in Katowice itself in Poland. Thanks to CFA accreditation, top-performing students may receive funding for examinations, and PRMIA accreditation allows students to sit one of two PRM, or Professional Risk Manager, exams. The program is aimed at ambitious students with clearly defined goals who enjoy working with numbers and finance and who aspire to an international career. The double degree, international experience and specialized language skills are intended to prepare students for the world of international finance. The ARIMA program also belongs to the educational-scientific networks INTQUANT and GrEnFin, which give students access to additional Intensive Programs and Summer Schools. Quantitative asset and risk management as a field combines statistics, financial modeling and regulatory knowledge to help institutions measure and manage exposure across investment portfolios and insurance products. Graduates commonly pursue careers as risk analysts, portfolio managers, actuarial associates or quantitative researchers within banks, insurance companies, asset managers and consulting firms.
