Registered Nursing Bridging Program for Re-entry to Practice

The programme is delivered entirely online and is structured over three years. It consists of nine core online courses, followed by simulation laboratory sessions and an onsite clinical practicum. The first stage focuses on theory, the second adds simulated practice, and the final stage provides real-world clinical experience.

Each week students engage with a mix of reading, interactive modules and assignments for the online courses, attend scheduled simulation labs where they rehearse assessment and intervention skills, and complete clinical placement hours under supervision. Faculty provide regular one-to-one feedback and support throughout.

The certificate is aimed at registered nurses who have previously practiced in Canada and wish to update their knowledge across health assessment, maternal-newborn care, mental health, pediatrics, adult and geriatric nursing, community perspectives and pharmacology. Successful completion meets the requirements for re-licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.
