    Introduction

Since 1917, Providence College has brought Catholic and Dominican traditions into higher education. Its community is built around seeking truth, exploring the relationship between faith and reason, and pursuing these values in a diverse and inclusive setting. Students can choose from undergraduate programs that combine broad study with focused preparation in areas such as nursing, secondary education, social work, health sciences, and data science.

Academic work crosses disciplines in several programs. Biochemistry combines chemistry and biology, while neuroscience draws on multiple approaches and perspectives. Classical studies includes archaeology, art, history, and culture, and Middle East Studies considers cultural, political, economic, and religious contexts. Music students can explore education, liturgical music, musical theatre, theatre, or music technology and production. Communication, psychology, sociology, anthropology, writing, theology, and public and community service studies add further options across the humanities and social sciences. Some programs include practical elements: nursing combines theoretical and clinical coursework, Spanish for the Health Professions includes an internship that can be conducted locally, and theatre includes production experience and performance opportunities. International students should expect a college environment where Catholic intellectual traditions and liberal arts learning shape the academic experience, with study options ranging from established majors to individualized programs.
