Southeast University (SEU), established in 1902 and located in Nanjing, is a national key research university with three campuses—Sipailou, Jiulonghu and Dingjiaqiao—covering a large, well-equipped footprint in the city. SEU combines a long academic tradition with modern research infrastructure, offering a broad portfolio of programs across engineering, sciences, medicine, and the humanities. Its strategic location near Purple Mountain and Xuanwu Lake places students within a rich cultural and historical environment.

SEU places strong emphasis on research and international collaboration, hosting numerous national and provincial research institutes and laboratories. The university supports more than 70 programs and offers scholarships such as municipal and university funds for outstanding international students. International partnerships span more than 100 institutions worldwide, and the international office provides admissions guidance, language support, and orientation services to help overseas students integrate academically and socially.

Student life at SEU is active, with clubs, cultural events, and practical training opportunities across Nanjing’s growing industrial and technology sectors. Accommodation options include international student dormitories across campuses and affordable off‑campus rentals; estimated living and meal costs are moderate by Chinese standards. Prospective international students should prepare academic documents, consider scholarship applications, and reach out to the international admissions team early to plan study arrangements in Nanjing.
