Software Engineering focuses on the systematic design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems, distinguishing itself from computer science by its emphasis on engineering process and project management alongside technical skills. A typical curriculum covers programming languages, data structures and algorithms, software architecture, database systems, software testing, and project management methodologies such as agile development. Students usually work on team-based projects that simulate real software development environments, learning to write, document, and maintain code while managing requirements and deadlines. Graduates pursue careers as software developers, systems analysts, quality assurance engineers, and technical project managers across industries that rely on custom software solutions. This 4-year bachelor's program is offered by Hasan Kalyoncu University in Gaziantep, Turkey, a private (foundation) university, with instruction in English. English-medium instruction connects students directly to the programming languages, documentation, and international development communities that shape the software industry. Based in Gaziantep, students study within a region experiencing industrial growth, giving them exposure to the kinds of organizations that increasingly depend on custom software for manufacturing, logistics, and business operations.
