About Master in Soziologie

In the Soziologie module, students engage with Inklusion (Inclusion) and Bildungswissenschaften (Educational Sciences) from the start of their first semester, developing a nuanced understanding of social inclusion and educational processes. Students explore topics such as social inequality, migration, and the role of religion in education, building critical thinking and research skills through lectures, seminars, and empirical studies. The programme includes New Social Movements and the Gezi Park Protests and Approaches to Crime & Criminal Justice in Germany and the United States, fostering a global perspective on social issues. The Institut für Soziologie at the Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg supports students in developing analytical and methodological expertise to advance their careers in education and social sciences.
