Spanish for the Workplace 1

Delivered in a blended format, the course mixes live online sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a single on-campus assessment and an optional field trip in the final week.

No prior Spanish is required.

Students study core language skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing – within the cultural context of Spanish-speaking countries. By the end of the semester they will have reached A1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and be able to conduct very basic work-related conversations, extract key points from short texts, and demonstrate basic oral competency in professional settings. The 10-credit module is estimated at 250 learner hours and is assessed continuously through oral, aural, written tasks and a project, with all online classes recorded for later review. The part-time structure suits employees, graduates and anyone seeking to add elementary Spanish to their skill set.
