Bachelor in Specialized Degree Program in Semiconductor Applications

Tuition fees are 106,766 TWD per year.

Ming Chuan University, based in Northern Taiwan, offers the Specialized Degree Program in Semiconductor Applications as a bachelor's degree taught in English. Semiconductor applications is a field within electrical and electronics engineering that focuses on how semiconductor materials and devices, such as transistors and integrated circuits, are designed, manufactured, and applied within electronic products and systems. Students in this discipline typically study semiconductor physics, circuit design, electronic device fabrication, and the testing and quality control processes used in semiconductor manufacturing, alongside broader electrical engineering fundamentals such as circuit theory and digital logic. Coursework often also covers materials science as it relates to semiconductor production, cleanroom and fabrication processes, and the applications of semiconductor devices in computing, communications, and consumer electronics, reflecting how central this technology is to the broader electronics industry. Because semiconductor manufacturing and design require precision and an understanding of both physics and engineering practice, students in this field usually combine theoretical coursework with laboratory or hands-on training in device fabrication and testing. Graduates from semiconductor-focused engineering programs pursue roles such as process engineer, device engineer, test engineer, and product engineer within semiconductor and electronics companies, and some continue into graduate study in electrical engineering or materials science. The field suits students with a strong interest in physics and electronics who want specialized training tied directly to the semiconductor industry rather than a general electrical engineering curriculum. Delivered in English, the program is designed to be accessible to international students who want undergraduate training in this field while studying in Taiwan, a country with a substantial semiconductor manufacturing sector.
