Master in Statistics (MSc)

The MSc in Statistics follows a structured two-year route. The first year delivers a series of core modules covering statistical inference, time-series analysis, multivariate methods and specialised topics such as bioinformatics and environmental statistics. After completing the required courses, students move into the second year where they design and execute an original research project, culminating in a defended thesis. Both full-time and part-time pathways are offered.

A unique aspect of this programme is the department’s more than 100-year heritage, providing direct involvement in faculty-led research that spans ecology, ocean science, epidemiology and machine learning.
