About Master in Sustainability Leadership

Students begin with the module “Understanding the Sustainability Challenge”, which asks whether current notions of sustainability can coexist with economic growth, social justice and ecological limits. The module encourages critical analysis of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The part-time 18-month programme blends online learning with face-to-face sessions at the Mayo campus and targets professionals and graduates aiming to influence organisational strategy, policy or consultancy in sustainability. Across six mandatory modules, learners explore business model impacts, develop leadership skills, design strategic plans, examine governance frameworks and sharpen critical thinking. The curriculum uses case studies and promotes new metrics for measuring environmental, social and economic performance.

  • Four mandatory modules in Semester 1 covering sustainability concepts, impact assessment, leadership and change.
  • Three mandatory modules in Semester 2 covering strategic management, governance and critical thinking.
  • Blended delivery with online components and on-campus workshops at the Mayo campus.
  • 18-month part-time schedule totalling 90 credits.
