This four-semester Master's programme in Sustainable Chemistry is designed for professionals with a background in chemistry, bioengineering, environmental engineering, pharmacy, biochemistry, or related fields. The curriculum covers sustainable chemistry from the molecular level through to global material and product flows, and includes alternative business models, tools for sustainability assessment, international regulations, and strategies for leading change. Topics span environmental chemistry, toxicology and ecotoxicology, green chemistry, renewable energies, benign by design principles, resources and circular economy, and chemicals management. The programme uses a blended learning approach combining distance learning with several two-week on-site sessions at Leuphana University Lüneburg for lectures, seminars, laboratory work, and networking. The third semester includes a project module; the fourth semester is devoted to a Master's thesis presented in a final on-site session. Students with interests in specific modules can also take two standalone certificate courses drawn from the programme. The programme starts in the summer semester and is offered at Leuphana University Lüneburg in Lüneburg, Germany.
