About the Program

Sustainable Textiles is a three-semester Master of Engineering programme that addresses the challenges of today's global textile industry, covering renewable and petrochemical-based materials, responsible and environmental production, legal regulation, labour rights, and transparency in global value chains. Students develop skills in sustainable textile chemistry, production process optimisation, and research into innovative fibres and finishings. The curriculum covers textile technology and textile chemistry, advanced production and chemistry, effect and process auxiliaries, resource-efficient application technologies, legal frameworks and digitalisation in the textile value chain, sustainable project management, circular economy, certification and eco-labels, and renewable products including fibres, auxiliaries, and dyestuffs. Study excursions to textile technology companies and expert discussions from research and industry are part of the programme. The programme runs over 3 semesters with intake in the winter and summer semester and is fully taught in English. It is delivered on the Münchberg campus. The programme is offered at Hof University of Applied Sciences in Hof, Germany.
