Te Reo Kaupae Rua

Te Reo Kaupae Rua is a professional development course designed for individuals looking to enhance their basic skills in Te Reo Māori language and pronunciation. This course is ideal for those who have completed the Te Reo Kaupae Tahi course and wish to further their understanding of Māori customs and protocols. The program is offered at various UCOL campuses and can also be delivered in workplace settings, making it accessible for a wide range of learners.

Throughout the 40-hour course, participants will engage in both face-to-face and online learning. The curriculum includes 20 hours of guided instruction with a tutor, complemented by 20 hours of independent study. This structure allows students to develop their conversational skills in Te Reo Māori while gaining insights into traditional and contemporary Māori customs. The hands-on approach ensures that learners can apply their knowledge in real-world contexts.

Upon completion of this course, graduates may consider advancing to the next level, Te Reo Māori Intermediate. The skills acquired can lead to various roles within educational, cultural, and community organizations that value Māori language and culture.
