Tuition is 23,100 USD per year.

They also study set design, lighting, sound effects, theatre acoustics, scene painting, property management, costume design, and technical direction and production.

These skills support technical theatre and production work using computer applications. They are used in roles involving set, lighting, sound, costumes, properties, and technical direction.

For international students, tuition is around the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 73% of applicants.

    About SUNY at Purchase College

SUNY Purchase was founded in 1967 around the idea that the arts and liberal arts should inform one another on a single campus. Today, the college combines professional conservatory training in dance, film, music, theatre, and visual arts with programs in the liberal arts and sciences. Its curriculum includes 48 undergraduate majors, 41 minors, and seven graduate degrees, with applied learning across disciplines.

The 500-acre campus is in suburban Westchester County, 35 miles north of New York City. Students study in a setting shaped by the Performing Arts Center, Neuberger Museum of Art, and facilities supporting creative work, including recording studios and dedicated spaces for visual arts. Small classes, a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and faculty who practice in their fields support close academic and professional engagement. All students complete a year-long Senior Project with one-on-one faculty mentorship, which may take the form of a performance, exhibition, research project, or film.

International students are welcomed at Purchase, and the Office for Global Education provides further information and support. Some programs require auditions, including the Conservatory of Music and its music minor, which is available only to students in specified music majors. The music minor requires private study, theory, ear training, music history, and ensemble work. Students should review program-specific admission and audition requirements carefully, especially where places are limited.
