The Technology Education program at the University of Erfurt is designed for students aiming to become teachers in technical subjects at secondary schools. This dual program spans four years and combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, making it ideal for those who thrive in hands-on learning environments. Students will engage in both classroom instruction and school-based training, preparing them for a rewarding career in education.

Throughout the program, students will study various subjects, including energy technology, electrical engineering, and business economics. The curriculum emphasizes practical skills, such as working with tools and machinery, and includes modules on educational theory and didactics. This comprehensive approach equips students with the necessary competencies to effectively teach technical subjects and adapt to the evolving educational landscape.

Graduates of the Technology Education program can pursue various teaching positions in secondary schools, focusing on subjects like Technical Work and Economics. They may find employment in public schools across Germany, particularly in Thuringia, where they will have opportunities to shape the next generation of students. The skills acquired in this program are also transferable to roles in educational administration and curriculum development.
